Welcome back to our Money Matters blog! Today, we’re talking about something super exciting:”the power of giving!” Have you ever felt really good about sharing something with someone? Well, the Bible talks about this, and we’re going to explore a special verse today! “What Does Malachi 3:10 Say?”
In the Bible, there’s a verse in Malachi that says, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”Wow, that sounds amazing! Let’s break it down!
1. The Whole Tithe: - The word "tithe" means giving a small part of what we have—usually 10%—to help others and support our community. It’s like taking a slice of your favorite pizza and sharing it with a friend!
2. Blessings Come Back: - Malachi tells us that when we give, God promises to bless us back in amazing ways! Picture a giant rain cloud opening up and showering you with fun surprises! The more we give, the more good things come our way.
Why is Giving Important?
Giving is super important for several reasons: - “Helps Others”: When you share, you help those who might not have enough. Whether it’s sharing toys, food, or even money, you’re making a difference!
-Makes You Happy: Giving can boost your happiness! You know that warm, fuzzy feeling you get when you give someone a gift? That’s the joy of giving!
-Builds Kind Communities: When everyone shares and helps out, we create a caring and loving environment for everyone!
“Fun Activity: The Giving Jar Challenge!”
Let’s put this idea of giving into action with a fun challenge! You Need: - A jar or container (you can decorate it if you want!) - Some coins, play money, or small toys to give away - A piece of paper to write your goal on.
How to Do It: 1. Create Your Giving Jar: Decorate your jar to make it special. This is your Giving Jar where you’ll store your rewards for sharing.
2. Set a Goal: Decide on an amount you want to give or a certain number of things you want to share—this could be a few coins from your allowance or extra toys you don’t play with anymore.
3. Start Giving: For one week, find ways to give! You might share your snacks with friends, donate to a charity, or even help a neighbor. Every time you give, add something to your Giving Jar as a reminder of the joy you’re creating!
4. Celebrate Your Giving: At the end of the week, count what you’ve collected in your jar and celebrate all the good you’ve done!
“Remember!”
Malachi 3:10 teaches us that when we give generously, we open the door for even more blessings. It’s not just about money; it’s about sharing love, kindness, and joy with those around us!
“Conclusion”
So, let’s make it a goal to give! Remember, every small act of kindness counts. Whether it’s sharing your toys or helping someone in need, you’re making the world a better place.
